Andrzej Borzym
jr
Born in 1979. Graduated from the Karol Szymanowski High School of Music
in Warsaw, class of the cello conducted by Professor K. Drzewiecka.
He took part in many master classes of musical interpretation as well
as cello competitions.
The 2nd place won at the 1st National Cello Competition in Wroclaw
was his most important success gained as a cello player.
In 2003 he graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw,
Chair of Conducting headed by professor Ryszard Dudek. He improved
his conducting skills also in Sir Colin Davis's master classes in the
Dresden Hochschule
für Musik (2000). Currently he is a student of the Chair of Composition
headed by Professor Zbigniew Baginski in the Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin
Academy of Music.
Since August 1999 he has been cooperating with the "Collegium Musicum" Chamber
Choir at the University of Warsaw. Since 2002 he has been working as the
assistant conductor there. He gave many concerts with this choir, both in
Poland and abroad (Germany, France, Chile). He also sings in the Warsaw Chamber
Opera choir or the Polish Jeunesses Musicales Choir.
In 2001 he started cooperating with the brass orchestra at the Polish
National Opera in Warsaw. In 2001-2002 he conducted the chamber orchestra
consisting of students of the Warsaw Academy of Music.
For three years he has been cooperating with the Vocal Department of
this Academy - there he conducted the following operas: Der Apotheker by
J. Haydn, Le nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart and Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss.
Furthermore, he cooperated with the Slovenian National Opera Orchestra,
the Czestochowa Philharmonic Orchestra, the Warsaw Academy of Music
Symphony Orchestra.
